Countless numbers of
dog's and cat's are
abandoned each day.
Don't do that to
someone you love.
Call us so your loved one
can stay with their family.
My son and I had  gone out looking for a new dog one Saturday. We already have a wonderful dog, Brandi, but wanted to
try and help out the shelters by getting another.

As we walked through the shelter my son started to get upset. He looked up at me and said, "There are so many." He was
right. When Zach asked the rescue worker why they had so many animals, they replied; "People are giving up their animals
because they can no longer afford them." This did not sit well with Zach. He wanted to go home and see his best friend,
Brandi.

Feeling horrible for all the animals and the family's that
missed them we went home. That night we both were unable to sleep. Tossing and turning all night both of us feeling the
need to do something.

Sunday morning I was reading the paper and my son came and sat with me. He told me; "We need to feed the dog's."
I explained that our dog was fed (having only half listened to what he said)
He replied
; "Not our dog, ALL dogs! Suddenly, I pictured myself making kibble in the kitchen.  He was right. We need to
feed the dogs and try to keep them at home with their family. Out of shelters.

After some thought, and some research we decided on an Animal Pantry. My son, who is nine, thought this was a great
idea. Being the good Cub Scout that he is, he started thinking of ways his Pack and classmates could help. Food drives!

Zach approached his Principal and asked if he could hold a food drive. He agreed! So for the class that raised the most food
we would give them a pizza party! This was a hit and the children brought in 1,000 pounds of food!
